Privacy notice
Last updated: 31 October 2026
This notice explains what personal information Women For Restore collects, why, how it is kept safe and what your rights are. I have written it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email info@w4restore.co.uk.
1. Who I am
Women For Restore is an independent grassroots campaign for the safety of women and girls, run by one person in the UK. Women For Restore is the data controller for the information described here, which means I decide how it is used and I am responsible for protecting it.
Women For Restore is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). Registration number: ZC287763. You can check this on the ICO register.
Contact for anything about your data: info@w4restore.co.uk
2. What I collect

| Her Echo early access sign-up | Your email address and town, and optionally your first name, constituency and what you're interested in. |
| Volunteer form | Your name, email, town, how you could help and how much time you have. Optionally your phone number, constituency, whether you're a Restore Britain member, and anything else you tell me. |
| Feedback form | What your feedback is about, which page, and your message. Your first name and email address only if you ask for a reply. |
| Event interest form | Your email address and town, and optionally your first name, how far you would travel and what kinds of event interest you. |
| Women's Voices National Questionnaire | Your answers, including whether you are female or male, your political views, and your views and experiences of safety. | Branch Information Pack feedback form | Your branch name, whether you are a branch organiser or a member, how you used the pack and what you thought of it, and any comments. Your email address only if you want me to contact you about your feedback. The form does not ask for your name. |
| Emails you send me | Your email address, your name if you include it, and what you write. |

Sensitive information
A safety report may include details of a crime, or information about health, ethnicity or other sensitive matters. The law gives this information extra protection, and so do I. Please:
- leave out your own name and anything that identifies you if you want to stay anonymous
- do not name or identify other people, such as a suspect, a witness or another victim
- do not include photos of identifiable people
The Women's Voices National Questionnaire asks about political views and experiences of safety, which the law also treats as sensitive. Please don't include your name, anyone else's name, or details that could identify you or someone else in any written answers. Because the questionnaire is anonymous, once you have submitted it I can't find and remove your answers.
On the Branch Information Pack feedback form, your branch name and whether you are an organiser or member show that you support a political party, which the law also treats as sensitive.
3. Why I use it, and my legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Recording and understanding safety reports, and publishing combined, anonymous figures | Your consent, which you give when you submit the form. For sensitive and crime-related information, your explicit consent (UK GDPR Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a), and Data Protection Act 2018, Schedule 1, paragraph 29). |
| Understanding women's views and experiences through the Women's Voices National Questionnaire, helping shape what Restore Britain and its local branches can do in communities, and publishing combined results | Your consent, and your explicit consent for political views and experiences of safety, which you give by ticking the consent box at the start of the questionnaire (UK GDPR Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a)). |
| Improving the Branch Information Packs using your feedback, and replying if you left an email address | Your consent, and your explicit consent for the political information (your branch and role), which you give by ticking the consent box on the form (UK GDPR Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a)). |
| Replying to you, if you asked me to | Your consent. |
| Contacting you about Her Echo, if you signed up for early access | Your consent. |
| Contacting you about volunteering, if you filled in the volunteer form | Your consent. |
| Telling you about events, if you registered interest | Your consent. |
| Answering emails | Legitimate interests: running the campaign and responding to people who contact me. |
| Website security logs | Legitimate interests: keeping the website safe and working. |
| Sharing information to protect someone's life or safety (see section 5) | Vital interests, or where the law requires it. |
You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing me. This does not affect anything already published in combined, anonymous form.
4. What I publish
For safety reports and the Women's Voices National Questionnaire, I only ever publish combined figures and general themes, for example "12 reports of harassment near transport hubs in County Durham in November". I never publish names, contact details or anything that could identify you or anyone else in a report.
5. Who I share it with
I never sell your information, and I do not share reports with the police, councils, political parties or anyone else, except:
- if you ask me to
- if I believe someone, especially a child, is at serious risk of harm, in which case I may contact the police or emergency services
- if the law requires me to
Women's Voices National Questionnaire: I may share the combined, anonymous results with Restore Britain, as well as publishing them. I never share individual answers with Restore Britain or anyone else.
Branch Information Pack feedback: I don't share individual answers with anyone, including Restore Britain. I may share combined results or short anonymous quotes that don't name you or your branch. Paper forms are handed to your branch, which passes them to me without copying or keeping them.
I use these trusted services to run the site, the form and email. They act on my instructions under data processing agreements:

Switzerland and the European Union are recognised by the UK as giving adequate protection to personal data.

- withdraw your consent
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
Email info@w4restore.co.uk to use any of these rights. I will reply within one month. If you sent an anonymous report, I may not be able to find it unless you can describe it, for example the date, area and what it was about.
